I recently purchased a small shoot through umbrella softbox.
I love the light it produces, but you can’t tip it to shoot down on the subject
from above. It set’s too close to the light stand (photo-01). If you try to tip
it down it’s hits the light stand. I user two Phottix umbrella mounts to form
two adjustable “L” brackets (photo-02). The brackets are connected with a short
piece of half inch hard copper tubing (photo-03). By adjusting the “L” attached
to the light stand you can make the umbrella softbox point up. By adjusting the
“L” attached to the speed light you can make the umbrella softbox point down.

Working Fast
I do volunteer photography for the local senior center.
They're working on a new article for their quarterly magazine about the people
who volunteer there. And they asked me to take some pictures, we had a very small-time
window to get the photography. The outfit that I chose was—
SMDV the 60 cm softbox
Evolv-200 pocket flash
XP – 200 extension flash head
Neewer medium stainless-steel light stand
Neewer swivel casters
Quick release plate
Impact super clamp
Canon 5D-III camera
Canon 24/105 lens
Godox X-Pro controller
I set the camera in program mode, auto ISO and TTL flash. I
use the exposure compensation dial and the flash exposure compensation dial to
find tune the exposure. This allowed me to concentrate more on posing and
composition.

Soccer - 3
Photographed another Soccer game yesterday. Used my Canon 7D
and Canon 70/200 – f/2.8 lens. I got some good pictures but I was a little off.
Ever have a day like that, everything seems to go okay but you feel like you
are a half step out of sequence.
